What Employee Loyalty is all about

Updated: Apr 21, 2020
Working for me entails giving my 100% at all times and why should I? My organisation cares about me and I am loyal to the ‘T’.

Welcome to my blog. the business environment is seeing a lot of changes with appearance of covid-19. Business will never be conducted like we knew it. What is the best way in ensuring your staff remains committed to your business goal.
You don't build a Business. You build people and then people build the Business
Employee loyalty for me is simply putting all my eggs in one organisation because I believe my work means something and my work is important for the growth of the organization. It also goes to say that success for my organization equals success for me and there is no alternative. It’s the ‘we all die here’ mentality.
This kind of attitude is important in any business. It increases productivity which directly increases the value creation that is needed for any business to succeed.
At the end of the day every business is in business because of the value they are offering to customers.
There are some qualities that inspire employee loyalty. They make the average employee vested in the interests of the organization.
· Respect, Respect and more Respect – When this is given freely, trust is earned and a working dynamic that is so seamless builds loyalty
· No work is beneath anyone – All hands can get dirty, there is no ‘big boy/girl’, no ‘special human’ we are all here to get the work done. Employers seen to do work that is beneath them inspire camaraderie and more commitment from others in the work place.
· Have your employees back – ‘I gat you’, this is a feeling employees say they like to feel at the work place. If I am giving you my everything I need to feel that you are ready to do same for me.
Businesses strive to make customers feel this way thereby building customer loyalty this should apply to employees who are your internal customers and whose job it is to cater to your external customers.
· See employees as people first – I am a person first before I am an employee. I have heard employees feel like they are seen as robots with unrealistic deadlines and targets.
A lack of compassion from organisations is becoming the norm. A friend was in an accident and insisted to get to work to be seen by the HR before she agreed to go to the hospital. Totally shocking, I can’t explain…
· Conversations should be two way – The fact that you are my boss should not make me mute with the ability to only say ‘yes sir, ok sir’. Encourage courageous conversation, everyone should be able to speak and be heard. The greatest ideas have come from the most unassuming people.
Employees are loyal to Companies that are loyal to them. How does an organisation show its loyalty to its employees?
